Dr. Lingam Vijaya, a seasoned Ophthalmologist, is the Distinguished Senior Consultant and former Director of Glaucoma Services at the Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India. She is a trusted authority in the field of glaucoma, with 178 published research papers, ten authored chapters, and a myriad of lectures to her name.
As the Principal Investigator for significant epidemiological studies, her contributions to medical research are substantial. Her leadership roles include the past presidency of the Glaucoma Society of India and memberships in multiple international organizations like the World Health Organization, World Glaucoma Association, and Glaucoma Research Society.
Today, she continues to influence global eye health as a board member of the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society and member of Glaucoma Research Society. Dr. Vijaya's work and dedication make her a true pioneer, shaping the future of Ophthalmology.
