HWQld is also proud to be leading A Better Choice, a Queensland first public health approach to make it easier to access healthy food and drink options outside of the home.
Queensland Health
Queensland Health provides strategic leadership and direction to the Queensland public health system. The department delivers expert health system governance, statewide clinical health support services, information and communication technologies, health promotion and disease prevention strategies, urgent patient retrieval services, health infrastructure planning and corporate support services in partnership with 16 Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) across the state.
Queensland Association of School Tuckshops
The Queensland Association of School Tuckshops (QAST) is a not-for-profit membership association working with Queensland school communities to build capacity in tuckshops and improve health outcomes for children.
QASTs vision is healthy tuckshops, healthy schools, healthy children and they exist to support Queensland tuckshops to serve sustainable, affordable, nutritious and safe food choices.
QAST members benefit from professional development, training, resources, networking and essential services that boost tuckshop presence and viability in the school community.
Parents and Citizens Queensland
P&Cs Qld is the peak body supporting and representing more than 900,000 state school parents and wider school communities throughout Queensland.
They support the achievement of quality educational outcomes for students through fostering parental and community engagement in a thriving and successful education system.
Through their state-wide network of 1266 P&C Associations, School Councils and some 58,000+ volunteers, P&Cs Queensland have the localised presence and voice to lead and enact change.
The Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games
The Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games empowers Queenslanders to enjoy physical activity to improve their health and wellbeing in active communities. We do this through grant funding, infrastructure and planning, events and world-class venues. We work in conjunction with other agencies responsible for the governance and administration of the racing industry in Queensland. We’re working with Games delivery partners to facilitate the best possible outcomes for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and their legacies across the state.
